Lakeside Pharmacy now has flu vaccine in stock. We offer immunizations on a walk in basis and can bill insurances including Medicare. A prescription is not needed so you can come in at your convenience.

Flu vaccine protects you and the people around you from influenza and helps to prevent this serious disease. The formulation changes each year based on predictions of which flu virus will be most active in the upcoming season. This can be difficult to predict, but every effort is made to be as accurate as possible. Although it is impossible to predict what this year's flu season will be like, the vaccine is one way to protect yourself from getting the flu. The flu vaccine does not contain live virus so it cannot give you the flu, however, it does take about 2 weeks for your body to build up immunity. It is important to continue to wash your hands and avoid contact with ill people to help prevent you from getting influenza or other illnesses. CDC recommends that people get a flu vaccine by the end of October. However, getting vaccinated later can still be beneficial. CDC recommends ongoing flu vaccination as long as influenza viruses are circulating, even into January or later.

Our pharmacist, Mike, has had special training in immunization and we strive to provide a comfortable environment with privacy for immunizations. We are also connected with the Washington State Immunization Registry and will update their system once your vaccine is administered. Many doctors' offices use the registry to view vaccines administered to their patients outside of their clinic. We will also notify your provider by fax once the vaccine has been administered. If you have any questions, feel free to email, call or stop by and we will be happy to answer them for you.
